Very nice house with fantastic view and surrounded by a many flowers.
Things missing in the house are WiFi and a washing machine. The access road to the house is quite adventurous due to the bad road condition. From the parking lot, one can reach the house by a short road and a few steps, which are not well illuminated by night.
This said, we had a great time in Casa petunia and can recommend it!

As you mentioned, we did our best to make the loft comfortable as much as possible except the lights of the alley we changed today: now it's perfectly enlighted. :)
About the washing machine, there was not before, and we won't put any in the loft: we are proposing now a laundry service, in option, when our guests will need some.
At last, about the wifi, there was never wifi provided before, but we are working about installing it as soon as possible.

Amazing house and ocean view
The living room was very nice decorated with beautiful flowers of the own garden. Every room was really clean and spacious, espacially the huge bath room with the beautiful Azulejos.
It's very calm and private but still very close to Mosteiros, which you can reach in 7 minutes by car. Very nice beach!

Absolutely lovely house, great view
The house is cozy, clean and there is everything you need in a holiday house. Everything is of high quality and beautifully designed. The bed is more than comfortable, the bathroom is big and and the kitchen well equipped. Doors and windows are screened so no flies can enter the house.
And it gets even better: When we arrived, the fridge was filled with delicious food, there was bread and even beer and wine.
Rosa and Al are great hosts; they helped us to book a whale watching boat trip, gave us recommendations for restaurants and in genereal were extremely helpful. They live near the Chalet so you can easily get into touch with them.
We are very happy that we were able to stay in Chalet Casa Petunia!

Traumhaft schön !
Wenn man bei Sonne auf dem kleinen Balkon, oder auch im Garten sitzt und diese gesamte Umgebung betrachtet, dann ist das unbeschreiblich. Und bei dieser Ruhe konnte man all diese Schönheit voll genießen.
Mr. Medeiros empfing uns und war auch immer für uns da, wenn wir in brauchten. Das Haus ist sehr schön ausgestattet und wir hatten alles was wir brauchten. Sogar zu Beginn, war der Kühlschrank gut gefüllt und Obst lag auch auf dem Tisch..., einfach Klasse !!!
Wie schon erwähnt..., immer wieder dorthin..., vielen Dank Mr. Medeiros :-)

Thank you for the rating, disappointed that you are so down on my dogs, I thought you liked them. Being that we are so secluded from other neighbors the dogs are a necessity. The only part that is under the terrace is were they sleep, they have over a acre of grass area to run in. We try to maintain the area bleached and clean, but in fact they are animals. If the winds are just right you will also get eau do cow because they are also all over the island. I am sure that you must of noticed the many wild rabbits we also have around the property. Its part of being with nature.

Die Vermieter wohnen am Hang unterhalb des Chalets und sind sehr hilfsbereit und nett. Am letzten Abend wurden wir noch eingeladen und erhielten ein schönes Geschenk. Chalet Casa Petunia
The chalet is situated in a lovely garden setting with abundant flowers. The view of the ocean is breathtaking.
We have visited the chalet before and hope to return many times for the comfort of the bed, beautiful bath, living room and kitchen. We recommend this chalet to anyone wishing to escape to a beautiful, tranquil setting. While we visited we had a whale sighting as well as many rainbows.

Rosa und Al haben uns so herzlich empfangen wie man Freunde begrüsst, stehen mit Tipps zur Seite und sind sehr interessante Gesprächspartner. Herzlichen Dank dafür!
Herrliche Wanderungen direkt vom Chalet aus sind möglich, Besuche der heißen Quellen von Ferraria (10 Min mit dem Auto) und whale/dolphin watching mit Pico de Avventura (Anbieter) in Ponta Delgada (30 Min) zu empfehlen. Extrem erholsam, Wiederholung geplant.

Amazing house
the Landlady is very helpful. She provided bread, cheese, wine, so you can have first breakfast in comfort if you arrived late at night.
Distance to Ponta Delgada and airport - 50 mins and very easy to find. Distance to Feraria (hot ocean) is 20-30 mins. Distance to the Twin Lakes (Cete Sidades) is 20 mins. There is Spar supermarket and Gas station on the way from Ponta Delgada to the house.
I fully recommend.

Perfekt für den Urlaub
Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist sehr geschmackvoll,alles was man benötigt steht zur Verfügung sogar der Kühlschrank war gefüllt bei unserer Ankunft. Al und Rosa waren sehr, sehr nett und gastfreundlich.Wir haben uns absolut wohlgefühlt.Die Gegend ist gut mit dem Auto zu erkunden, lädt zum baden und wandern ein.

Super Urlaub
gefallen. Das Haus ist nicht sehr groß aber gemütlich. Unsere Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Sonnenliegen könnte man etwas verbessern aber der traumhafte Ausblick mit seinen sehr schönen Sonnenuntergängen wiegt das alles wieder auf.
Da das Haus etwas abseits steht empfiehlt es sich einen Leihwagen zu nehmen dann kann man besser die traumhafte Insel erleben. Für uns war es ein unvergesslicher Urlaub:
Das Haus liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Lage, die Insel ist einzigartig schön die Temperaturen sind sehr angenehm
wenig verkehr die Vermieter Al und Rosa sind sehr freundlich ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

My site states that I have a 80sq mt open plan Chalet not a house. I have two new cloth flexible lounge chairs for use in the garden or terrace, sorry they were not to your liking. The Chalet is situated in an ecological area as stated on the site surrounded by nature and yet we are only a 5 minute drive to the village or 20-30 minute walk. When guests ask about renting a car I always recommend them to rent one because it is the best way to see the entire Island regardless where you are staying.
Every time I see my guest I ask if everything is OK and if there is anything I can do for them. I wish you had spoken your concern about the chairs, it would have been resolved at that time, now it is to late.

Great holiday in a fantastic landscapes
The location of the property is breathtaking. Whenever possible we enjoyed the borderless view from the terrace. For people interested in hiking Mosteiros is a good starting-point to explore the western part of the island.
During our 2 week stay our hosts supported us in every aspect. Thank you very much for that Rosa and Al (hope, Al is doin’ fine again).

Der perfekte Urlaub / Perfect holiday
We missed the chalet and Rosa and Al and the unbelievable green island at that moment we left it early in the morning. Because of all of that we give the chance to come back once time 100 %.

Perfect Holiday Location
The location and accommodation cannot be faulted. The chalet has everything you need for a holiday home - a well thought out kitchen, a living area and balcony with an idyllic view, a large comfortable bed and bedroom with good storage facilities and a lovely bathroom. I could have happily lived there for months.
The island of Sao Miguel is beautiful. The roadsides were covered with hydrangeas and agapanthus. The restaurants we visited served fish fresh from the sea simply grilled with just a scattering of sea salt, my idea of heaven. You can also get good beef dishes if you prefer meat.
Going whale and dolphin watching is a must. We were lucky enough to see Sperm whales and pilot whales as well as common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins and Risso's dolphins. The boat trip itself is wonderful even if you don't see anything, although you get another trip for free if you are so unlucky.
The boat trip to the Ilheu de Vila Franca from the village of Villa Franca do Campo (June to September) is also worthwhile. It's a very popular place to swim or just sunbathe and watch the world go by.
I could write reams about Chalet Casa Petunia and Sao Miguel. The best thing I can say is that if you are reading this and thinking about whether to visit the answer is a resounding YES.

Sehr herzliche Begrüßung durch die Gastgeber Al und Rosa, die uns auch danach bei Fragen jederzeit halfen und auch manchen guten Ausflugstipp hatten.
