Beskrivelse

Baglio Scannale is surrounded by a large park with ancient trees, including olive groves and a Mediterranean garden. Inside the 19th century accommodation, guests can immerse themselves in an atmosphere of other times.

The baglio spreads over three levels. The ground floor consists of a small living room with a ping-pong table, an old-fashioned kitchen, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a single bedroom, a toilet and a bathroom. The stairs lead to the main living room furnished with comfortable sofas, a dining table and a fireplace. The second floor features two bedrooms with queen-size beds, two with single beds and the master bedroom, inside which the family chapel of the time has been preserved. All rooms overlook the magnificent garden that surrounds the property, behind which there is a private swimming pool surrounded by cypress trees, and a dressing room and a toilet attached. One bathroom with shower and one with bathtub complete the accommodation.

The free wi-fi, the washing machine, the ceiling fans in every bedroom and the mosquito nets in the bedrooms will be at guests’ disposal.

Scannale is such a beautiful place saturated with interesting (and cinematic!) history and surrounded by amazing nature. Here you can start the day in the peaceful, leafy courtyard with freshly squeezed oranges from Pino's orchard, picking ripe abricots right from the tree next to the table, cuddle the Pino's dog and her puppy, and then wander through the garden to the clean and inviting pool for a morning swim. Inside the house you'll enjoy the spacious rooms, the variety of charming bedrooms and nice, modern bathrooms, and of course the historical atmosphere that is genuinly present everywhere. You can get basic provisions in the nearest village, ten minutes drive away, but be aware that for proper shopping, you'll need to go for a longer drive (and the road to Polizzi Generosa was temp. closed). There is a nice restaurant nearby, Il Baglio Antico di Maria. The only potential disturbance (if you are sensitive) is from the highway down in the valley, but none of us found it annoying.

This is a stunning classical old world building with unbelievable views of the surrounding mountains and valley. The entire estate is surrounded by sweet orange trees that are overflowing with fruit. Obviously with old world charm comes some modern inconveniences but who cares when you get to experience a stay at such a fantastic property. Once the warm sun popped out we spent all our time by the pool which is truly spectacular. Roberta and her husband met us on arrival and she was a very prompt communicator via Whats App. A caretaker lives on the property in case of any thing required. We are already planning our next visit!
