Description
Calm, rest and a real example of Madeira Island’s lifestyle. Familiar, romantic, cosy and peaceful! You can feel the smell of the gardens, relax in the swimming pool, enjoy wonderful sunsets, discover our agricultural land with fruit trees, vegetables and aromatic herbs.
The garden area has a good space to allow a good contact with nature, enjoying the pure air, the agricultural sounds and the sun.
On our garden, we have several plants and native flowers: banana trees, palm trees, yam, cardinal, cacti, jasmine, daisies, "maçaroco", elephant foot, angel trompets...
We can also find a well with permanent running water with fish and frogs.
In the garden exist some water springs that can be found throughout the year, even so with bigger abundance in the winter. Part of this water is accumulated and used on the irrigation of plants, trees and orchard.

Leaving the airport, follow the expressway in the direction of Funchal - Ribeira Brava - Ponta do Sol - Arco da Calheta. There is a roundabout, follow the direction Ledo. Turn left onto "Rocha de Gouveia" Street. 1 km ahead on your right, there is a sign stating "Calhau Grande", which points the way to the car park of the cottages.
