At home in the Sölktal Nature Park
Only a few can claim to live in a nature park. The Sölktal Nature Park in the Lower Tauern was designated as a European conservation area because of its many special animal and plant species and sensitive habitats. Guests of Almliesl, who spend their valuable vacation time in the region around Dachstein especially appreciate the incomparable flora & fauna and, above all, the PEACE.
Here, there are no crowds fighting for summits - no cable cars that hoist tired hikers and bikers into the heights, no "adventure mountain" to entertain the kids.
Here, wide, lonely alpine pastures, mighty mountain landscapes, and crystal-clear streams and mountain lakes await you.

Starting point for wonderful nature experiences during your vacation is the village of St. Nikolai

Feel at home in the spacious country house, surrounded by fragrant fields and the picturesque village center. The regional traditions are cherished in the village. Become part of village festivals, alpine drives, or beautiful Advent markets.

In front of the house, in the spacious garden, you can relax on the terrace of the separate garden shed. After an active day in the mountains, dinner is prepared at the masonry grill and simply enjoyed with a glass of wine. Upon request, overnight accommodation can also be arranged in the mattress dormitory of the shed.

Winter Experience between "gentle" tourism and downhill fun

The municipality of Sölk is located on the edge of the skiing areas Schladming-Dachstein. From St. Nikolai, you reach the Ski amadé ski region with 230 kilometers of slopes and 81 modern lift facilities in just 40 km.
But it can also be different:
Just 100 m from your vacation home, you enter a vast cross-country skiing network. There is a local tow lift for kids and beginner skiers. Strap on your touring skis right outside the front door and explore the way to the Hansnhütte, for example. The region is known for its 20 diverse ski tours.
The next larger ski area is at Galsterberg with 12 kilometers of slopes, 2 fun slopes, and a Gallic children’s area. The illuminated natural toboggan run makes every heart beat faster.

Tip: A well-known excursion destination is the Schloss Großsölk, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Today it houses the Nature Park House with a nature park laboratory and is the venue for various exhibitions.
