Cancellation and Costs
1. The guest is entitled to cancel the booking free of charge within seven days after Vrijheid aan de Kust has confirmed the booking in writing.
2. In the event of a cancellation by the guest after the period mentioned in paragraph 1, the guest owes Vrijheid aan de Kust a cancellation fee. This fee consists of a fixed amount for administrative costs of €30, and a part of the agreed price:
• in the event of a cancellation more than three months before the arrival date, 25% of the agreed price;
• in the event of a cancellation within three to two months before the arrival date, 50% of the agreed price;
• in the event of a cancellation within two months to one month before the arrival date, 75% of the agreed price;
• in the event of a cancellation within one month and 1 week before the arrival date, 90% of the agreed price;
• in the event of a cancellation within one week before the arrival date, 100% of the agreed price.
3. The cleaning surcharge is included in the agreed price. The following surcharges are not included in the agreed price and will be refunded in full in the event of a cancellation: tourist tax, linen package, bed linen, towels, dog surcharge, early check-in, late check-out.
4. Bicycles, hand carts, and grills are rented by the guest through an external provider. These can be cancelled by the guest free of charge up to one week before arrival.
5. The guest can, if desired, take out their own travel and/or cancellation insurance, the costs of which are to be borne by the guest. Vrijheid aan de Kust is in no way responsible or liable for this.
6. In the unlikely event that a holiday accommodation desired or booked by the guest is not available as indicated in the reservation or booking confirmation, Vrijheid aan de Kust will offer a suitable alternative in another holiday accommodation. Should the tenant not agree with the offered alternative, the guest will be refunded the rent already paid in full.
7. Vrijheid aan de Kust offers the possibility of free cancellation (with the exception of the booking fee) in the case of travel restrictions imposed by the authorities in connection with Covid-19, up to fourteen days before the arrival date. The following travel restrictions apply: 1: Closed border in the country of origin or destination; 2: Mandatory quarantine upon arrival in the destination country or upon return in the country of origin in connection with a negative travel advisory from the authorities. 3: These travel restrictions must be mentioned on the official websites of both the Dutch government and the country of origin. In the event of cancellation within fourteen days, the guest will receive a voucher. (This applies to bookings made before 01.06.2021.)
8. The guest and all fellow travelers must at all times comply with the guidelines regarding Covid-19, including those imposed by the authorities or the RIVM [National Institute for Public Health and the Environment]. The same applies to compliance with quarantine obligations upon arrival at the destination or when returning, also in connection with official travel advice. If necessary, the guest or a fellow traveler should be able to provide proof from a general practitioner or health office that he/she has tested negative for Covid-19. The relevant information must be completed by the guest and the traveler immediately after booking in the customer portal of Vrijheid aan de Kust.
