POSITION:
Salve is a town located on the south-western tip of Salento, on the Ionian coast. Various megaliths and archeological finds show that the area has long been inhabited by humans. There are several churches, chapels and massarie or farmhouses of historical significance. Salve is also the location of Palazzo Ceuli and some other ancient tower ruins. The local economy has traditionally been based on agriculture, but in recent years Salve has become an increasingly popular tourist destination. The town is located about 7km away from the famous stretch of beach known as La Maldive di Salento.
