Nice holiday house on a plot with a great view by the Langfjord on Arnøya's south side. The island is located at the far end of the Lyngenfjord north of Tromsø with a view to the Lyng Alps and known for magnificent nature both summer and winter. Boats for rent 6 km from holiday home. The house has been nicely restored (2014) and has a good standard. Two of the bedrooms have double beds 150 cm wide each, plus a single bed. Satellite TV with 20 channels, including several international ones. After active days, you can enjoy a bath in the jacuzzi next to the house. From the house there is a great view of the mountain Trolltinden on the other side of the fjord, one of the most popular hiking destinations on the island. From the mountain, there is a magnificent view towards the Ullsfjorden and the Lyngenfjorden with the mighty Lyngsalpen mountains to the south. The conditions are great for skiing up to the mountain top also in winter. Great place for anyone who wants to experience the northern lights in the polar sky. From Akkarvik, you can hike along the sea on Arnøya's south side to the vacated villages of Geitvika and Sotneset. Arnøya has many other hiking destinations in the mountains. Great starting point for day trips by car around the island, i.a. to the village of Årviksand on Arnøya's north-west side. The car ferry from Storstein to Arnøya runs many times a day and the crossing takes around 25 minutes. From Tromsø, you can take a fast boat to Arnøyhamn on Arnøya. There are several fish-rich waters on the island where you can fish with a rod. Arnøya is surrounded by a large sea area and here you will find Norway's best fishing opportunities, including of halibut, cod, and catfish.
