Holiday house Hannes in Schagen, North Holland

A beautiful apartment has been created in the center of Schagen. An excellent and comfortable base for two people to relax and explore Schagen and the surrounding area.In 2004, our striking semi-detached house was built on the estate of the last remaining urban farmer (farmer Marees!) as part of a small infill development. At the same time, we purchased the adjacent plot with a barn. You guessed it, it belonged to Uncle Hannes, a well-known Schagen resident who traded scrap metal and rags from there. We demolished the barn and rebuilt it fully insulated to current standards. The characteristic green color has been retained, as have the ceramic tiles on the roof.Until the end of 2025, this barn served as a studio/guest house, and the upstairs served as a garage and storage space. A rigorous upgrade has now resulted in a beautiful apartment. Downstairs, you'll find a spacious, fully equipped kitchen/diner with a refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, induction cooktop, oven/steamer, and a washer and dryer. There is also a spacious separate toilet. Upstairs, you'll find a cozy, comfortable living area with a nice bar, a lovely spacious shower with a vanity, and a second toilet. There's also a spacious sleeping area with a comfortable double bed. The location is perfect. Close to the center of Schagen, yet in an exceptionally quiet spot.Around Holiday Home HannesSchagen is a very pleasant town with a village character. The amenities are plentiful, with a beautiful shopping center (MAKADO), plenty of shops and supermarkets, and above all, a very charming town center with a variety of terraces, restaurants, and cafes. Every Thursday there's a large market, and during peak season, the West Friesland market with parades, music, and traditional costumes, as well as all sorts of other activities. It's centrally located, with beaches like Callantsoog and Petten less than 10 km away. The beautiful dune area around Schoorl and Bergen is also nearby. Furthermore, larger cities like Alkmaar and Den Helder are less than 25 km away. For golfers, the nearby Dirkshorn golf course (4 km) is highly recommended.
