From 1st January 2016, the Balearic government requires a Balearic Tourist Tax, payable at check-in, prices vary according to length of stay and season (Low or High). This tax applies to travellers over 16 years of age. The rate in high season (from April to October included) will be: 2.20€ per day per adult (16+) for the first 8 days; 1.10€ per day per adult for the rest. All these amounts are halved in each case from 1 November. This tax is for residents and non-residents of the European Union.

Royal Decree 933/2021, of 26 October, which establishes the documentary registration and information obligations of natural or legal persons who carry out accommodation and motor vehicle rental activities. 1. The owners of the accommodation and vehicle hire activities included in the scope of application of this regulation shall collect the details of the users of the same in order to proceed with the registration and communication necessary for compliance with the legal obligations that are developed by means of this Royal Decree. 2. The entry forms for the use of the accommodation services shall be signed by all persons over fourteen years of age who use them, in accordance with the system and model to be established. In the case of persons under fourteen years of age, their details shall be provided by the person of legal age with whom they are accompanied. 3. The clients will receive the Link from the host in order to register all the members who are going to stay in the holiday rental properties. This process is very simple and quick and failure to comply with this legal requirement may result in the breach of the previous contract making it impossible for guests to access the reserved property.
