The house is lovingly furnished in a Scandinavian style: On the ground floor are the three bedrooms, a bathroom and a large fully equipped kitchen-dining room. The first floor comprises the large living room with fireplace and reading nook, another living room and study, and a second large bathroom.
There is a large private garden with terrace on both sides of the house.

By train: The IC to Westerland and several regional trains arrive in Husum every hour. From Husum you can take a bus or taxi (approx. 15 km) to Langer Deich.
Nordstrand is centrally located on the North Frisian coast. By car you can reach Husum in 15 minutes, Flensburg, Schleswig and Holm as well as Tonder in Denmark in 1 hour, Friedrichstadt, Tönning and St. Peter Ording in about 45 minutes. By boat it takes 1.5 hours to Amrum, Föhr and Sylt.

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.
Entspannter Urlaub
Wunderschönes, familiengerechtes Haus
Für Lauflustige und Radfahrer ideal. Schöne, ruhige Umgebung. Ab und zu fährt mal ein Auto Richtung Deich. Für einen Strandurlaub ist die Umgebung eher weniger geeignet (kein Sandstrand, dennoch Rasenliegeflächen)
Das Haus bot alles was man brauchte. Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet und bietet einen großen Esstisch der zu Spieleabende einlädt.
Die Terrasse vor dem Haus ist leider nicht geebnet. Hier sollte man etwas aufpassen.

Die Terrasse sollte eigentlich schon dieses Frühjahr gemacht werden - aber dann kam Corona... Nun werde ich sie diesen Winter neu legen lassen - ab nächstem Jahr wird es da also keine Unebenheiten mehr geben. :-)

Ein schönes Ferienzuhause
Bitterer Nachgeschmack
Leider gibt es manchmal Gäste, deren Verhalten nicht nachvollziehbar ist: Die beiden Wohnzimmer wurden völlig umgeräumt - Sofas und Sessel von einem Zimmer ins andere geschoben, Teppiche weggenommen, Lampen umgestellt und Bilder umgehängt. So haben die Gäste das Haus dann verlassen - dass da Mülleimer nicht geleert waren, der Kaminofen völlig verrußt und das Haus auch deutlich dreckig hinterlassen wurde, fiel schon kaum noch ins Gewicht. Beim anschließenden Telefonat habe ich erklärt, dass ich die Sofas mit meinem Hausmeister zusammen wieder zurückräumen muss, denn allein kann ich so große Möbel nicht verschieben. Dafür habe ich dann 10 EUR von der Kaution abgezogen. Das wiederum war Anlass für die Gäste, so eine Bewertung zu hinterlassen. Seit fünf Jahren vermiete ich meine Ferienwohnung Nordstrand Cottage, seit diesem Jahr das Swanen Hus. Aber so etwas hatte ich noch nie erlebt.

Inselfeeling mit Freunden und Fahrrad
Wir hatten mit 6 Personen ausreichend Platz, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Da wir sehr kurzfristig, von einem Tag auf den anderen, buchen mussten, hat uns besonders die freundliche und entgegenkommende Art der Vermieterin, Frau Dr. Anna Schwan, gefallen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.
