Where can you find something like this? In the heart of the tri-border area of Salzburg, Bavaria, and Tyrol – in the charming resort town of Unken, something truly modern has taken root.

Between lush meadows and rugged mountain giants, your hosts Heidi, Leo, and Chris have taken a pioneering role in a new vacation concept. Known from TV documentaries and building and living magazines, a “Tiny-House” in the Salzburger Saalachtal is probably the least expected. Built with the latest full wood technology, sustainably and really smart, the trio has constructed two of these low-energy houses on the edge of their idyllic hotel premises. Brand new, very stylish, and yet perfectly integrated into nature, they are powered by “green” electricity and their own spring water.

The two houses can be booked separately or together (with interconnecting door)
Top modern amenities in a feel-good atmosphere with a fully equipped kitchen and solid wood furniture
Enjoyment location at the natural swimming pond with open views, away from hotel activities
However, all amenities such as wellness, fitness & co. can be booked from the hotel on-site: half-board in the hotel or would you prefer a breakfast basket or a roll service for a private breakfast on the terrace overlooking meadows, forests, and mountains
For your relaxing barbecue evening, you can pick fresh herbs right from the Tiny roof… yes, you heard right
Here, you “must” do nothing, but you can do everything, and above all: be happy!

In summer a true natural paradise

Be sure to visit the original hiking area in the Unkener Heutal or the managed huts in the Loferer Almenwelt. True regional delicacies and a generous portion of hospitality are served. The Heutal is also a worthwhile excursion area for mountain bikers and e-bikers. Enjoyable hikes up to actual summit tours start right at your Tiny door. If you’re looking for a bit more speed now and then, then the canyoning and rafting options in the wild Saalach will give you the right adrenaline rush.

In winter there’s something for EVERYONE

When planning your vacation, the motto is: “Don’t commit!” There’s just too much beauty to experience. Both the small, fine family ski area in the idyllic Heutal and the Almenwelt Lofer ski area ensure great skiing fun. Even among locals, the most beautiful ski hut in Austria, known for its good price-performance ratio, is one of the insider tips. Just about 15 minutes by free ski bus from Unken, you’ll reach the trendy Tyrolean ski region Steinplatte/Waidring.
Cross-country skiers, snowshoe hikers, ski tour enthusiasts, and tobogganists love the Heutal. It has so many natural beauties to offer and impresses with its well-developed trail networks.
Back in the Tiny House, you can relax in the hotel's wellness area with sauna, infrared, and a massage. Or order a flavorful mulled wine to the warming fire pit on your terrace and enjoy!
